[Samka House] is an inter-displinary creative studio working at the intersection of art, design & literature.
Moving between and beyond spatial & editorial design, publishing artist books, exhibitions, workshops and collaborative research, we approach making as a form of epistemological and ontological inquiry. We question what knowledge is, and its limits. Operating under de-colonial & intersectional feminist frameworks; we document, question & imagine lived realities. Named after their ancestral home, the studio is a natural extension and meeting point for sisters, Bhavneet & Mankirat Kaur’s artistic practice. Based in the heart & head of Punjab, Phagwara & Chandigarh, we work with hyper-local & global-diasporic cultural projects.
