[ETHOS] Samka House is a research-based         design and publication studio rooted in the
socio-cultural, politically ancestral, and
psycho-existential.

At its core, we question reality by the way of its materiality. Honing a critical, feminist, and
de-colonial lens, we bring context and process together through collaborative and self-initiated projects.

Samka, an acronym expanding as Space and Material Knowledge Anomaly, amalgamates the visual, textual, spatial, and kinesthetic direction of our making practice
.

[TEAM] Samka house is run by a sister creative duo working at the intersection of art, design and literature.

Complementary in every sense, One displaces and brings in the limitless, the other stabilizes it, decorates it with a pinch of reality, and together they question it. They meet at the intention. Samka House is the product of their collective intellectual property.

Bhavneet is a spatial designer, artist and researcher working with thematics of kinesthetic notions of space and body, ancestral memory and colonial narratives.

Mankirat Kaur is a writer, poet and photographer working with thematics of relationships, notions of love, emotional landscapes and philosophical absurdity.

[BASE] A family business at its heart, Samka House is currently located at its birthplace,
                                          Phagwara, Punjab, India.

We are a traveling creative duo with projects across India and Europe. We are parallelly
sub-urban and global.

Dual in nature, we are convinced that artistic intervention can and must exist anywhere, both in the metropolitan and the remotest.
